A Dog’s Dinner

This post is inspired by http://jfb57.wordpress.com/2011/12/12/100-word-challenge-for-grown-ups-week23/. This weekly challenge is to write a creative piece of 100 words in response to a prompt. This week’s prompt is to choose a favourite carol and re-write it with the theme of a Christmas Dinner but for this week only it doesn’t have to be 100 words.

This is to be sung to the tune of “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”.

I’m such a lucky puppy!
Christmas is my favourite time
Nothing’s too good for dinner
Even gravy made with wine.

Turkey and Goose with stuffing;
Sausages and bacon rolls;
Sweetmeats and roast potatoes
All end up in Fido’s bowl!

Ha, ha! What a piece of Christmas silliness! Thanks Julia.

    Ha Ha, great idea to do it from a dog’s perspective!
    A fun piece, I have sung it out loud (the only way to do these things) and am feeling most festive. HOHOHO :)

  7. Like the idea of having a dof instead of a waste diposal unit. Can you tell I’m not an animal person? Loved this though – the most original so far.

    Lovely, I can imagine this little dog’s excitement as the lunch menu unravels

    Nice one! And being a loony mad dog-owner too, my divine duo adore Christmas, their bowls being just like Fido’s!

    Well wasn’t expecting that from the prompt – well done! Lucky old puppy that was.
